What primary concerns exist in ethics, validity and reliability in AR? How are you managing these concerns (or how will you) within your study?
I first looked at what are the ethics in research and found the following main ideas:
Though this number is low, there is still a variety of misconduct out there due to,”Institutional pressures, incentives, and constraints encourage people to commit misconduct, such as pressures to publish or obtain grants or contracts, career ambitions, the pursuit of profit or fame, poor supervision of students and trainees, and poor oversight of researchers (Resnik, 2016).” The ways that I am maintaining ethical research is through upholding informed consent and ensuring respect for potential and enrolled subjects (NIH, 2016). In my classroom among students and parents I strive to keep informed consent and respect for subjects at the forefront of my study. Since I am publicizing student work and achievements, it’s important that I have consent from each participant and their parent (CIRT). Sources: CIRT. Ethical Considerations. Having the consent from parents and students is really important. The research you quoted about researchers having a difficult time being ethical due to pressure from grants, institutions, etc is very interesting to me. In reflection of myself, I find a bit of pressure to have a positive outcome and this is when I need to be open with my findings with others such as my colleagues so that I have accountability and also another pair of eyes looking over my research.
